Interview from Art Files Magazine
Interview by: Remington Powder

Remington:  Hey, Danna.  It's good to meet you.
Danna:  You too.
Remington:  Girl, you must be bad because I have been hearing a lot about you.
Danna:  I guess so.  People seem to like my work.
Remington:  I heard that you were very modest and humble.  Why is that?
Danna:  I was raised not to get too big headed.  You will always get knocked down eventually.  I was also taught to let your work and skills speak for themselves.
Remington:  On to your art.  Why do you use household items as your subject matter?
Danna:  My grandmother was a great cook.  I would sit in the kitchen as she cooked.  I just started drawing the kitchen items.  My grandmother thought it was cute.  I just kept drawing kitchen items.  One day, my grandmother said to me, "Child, go draw something else besides my kitchen.   Go draw something from the bathroom."  With that phrase, I began drawing household items.
Remington:  What's up with the toys that you draw?
Danna:  I loved to get toys.  I love to draw them also.   Having toys is a great part of childhood.  It helps children to develop their imagination.
Remington:  Who first discovered your work?
Danna:  It was someone at my mother's job.  My mother had some of my drawings at her desk.  A lady by the name of Vickie MacFarland saw them and took an interest in my work.  She asked my mother to get some of my best drawings together in a portfolio.  The rest is history.
Remington:  So, you became a famous artist.
Danna:  Something like that.
Remington:  What do you hope to accomplish in the future?
Danna:  Hopefully, I will be able to open my own gallery someday and promote the work of other artists.
Remington:  That's a good dream.  I hear you work at a youth center teaching art classes.  Tell me about that.
Danna:  Yea, I work at the South Petersburg Youth Center teaching art classes.  It's a joy to work with young artists.  They are very eager to learn.  They are always asking questions.  I am glad to do what I can to nurture young artists.
Remington:  Like I said earlier, it was nice meeting you.  Good luck with all of your future endeavors.
Danna:  Thank you.
